Born in Zaragoza to King John I of Aragon, Yolande married Louis II of Anjou at nineteen. A brilliant strategist and diplomat, she skillfully managed the finances and alliances of the Anjou dynasty. Known as the “Queen of Four Kingdoms,” she served as a powerful regent and a pivotal figure during the Hundred Years’ War.

Yolande famously sheltered the French Dauphin Charles, orchestrated his marriage to her daughter Marie, and mobilized the resources of Anjou and Provence.
