Evony Philippa: Newest Warehouse Officer Duty General

Evony Duty Officer General Philippa

Evony’s new Duty General, Philippa, serves as a powerful Warehouse Officer who helps protect your resources, increase construction speed, strengthen your own troops, and reduce the effectiveness of enemy forces. This guide outlines her core advantages and overall value, as well as how players can obtain her in-game.

The Background of Philippa

Philippa of Lancaster was born in England in 1360, the eldest daughter of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, and a granddaughter of Edward III. Raised within the English royal court, she received a refined education and was well versed in Latin and theology. Her royal lineage made her a highly desirable figure in European dynastic politics.

In 1387, following the Treaty of Windsor, Philippa married John I of Portugal. This marriage strengthened the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance, recognized as one of the oldest enduring alliances in European history. Through diplomacy and leadership, she played an important role in reinforcing cooperation between the two kingdoms, particularly during conflicts with Castile.

Philippa is also remembered for guiding the education of her children, later known as the “Illustrious Generation.” She personally oversaw their upbringing, emphasizing chivalric principles and intellectual development. Under her influence, Duarte I of Portugal became a scholarly monarch, and Prince Henry the Navigator later helped initiate the Age of Discovery.

Philippa died of plague in 1415 and was honored as a model queen and a foundational maternal figure in Portuguese history. By linking England and Portugal through both marriage and legacy, she influenced the course of the Portuguese kingdom and laid the groundwork for its later maritime expansion.
